Florida Lemark is proud to serve as the contractor for Yaeger Plaza, a transformative $60 million mixed-use affordable housing development that officially broke ground in Liberty City last week.

Located at 1177 N.W. 62nd Street, the project will bring 135 apartment homes to income-qualified families across a range of affordability levels. More than a residential development, Yaeger Plaza represents the continuation of a deeply rooted legacy of healthcare, community service, and innovation in one of Miami’s most historic neighborhoods.

The groundbreaking brought together elected officials, development partners, community leaders, and members of the Yaeger family to celebrate the next chapter for a site long known for healing and care.

Honoring a Historic Legacy

Yaeger Plaza will rise on the site of the former Yaeger Clinic, founded in 1958 by Dr. Carl E. Yaeger Sr. and Dr. Carl Yaeger Jr. For decades, the clinic served Liberty City and surrounding communities, providing comprehensive medical services and delivering over 400 babies, while caring for more than 100,000 patients.

The new development is designed to honor that legacy while reimagining the site for future generations.

A Vision for Community-Centered Development

Led by The Integral Group, the project has been years in the making, driven by a vision from the Yaeger family to transform the historic property into a vibrant, mixed-use destination.

Florida Lemark is executing construction on a development that will include:

135 affordable housing units
A dedicated floor for seniors and disabled veterans
A new Yaeger Clinic offering comprehensive healthcare services
Ground-floor retail and community-serving spaces
Wellness areas and green space
A STEM-focused education center led by the Yaeger Foundation

Preserving History While Building the Future

A key feature of the project is a museum incorporating the original 1958 clinic façade, which will showcase historical archives and medical artifacts. This element ensures that the story of the Yaeger Clinic—and its impact during critical periods such as segregation—remains an integral part of the community’s identity.

Building More Than Housing

Yaeger Plaza is scheduled for completion in late 2027 and reflects a broader commitment to equitable development, community investment, and long-term impact.

For Florida Lemark, this project represents more than construction—it is an opportunity to help deliver a space that blends housing, healthcare, education, and history into a lasting asset for Liberty City.
