Herbert A. Ammons Middle School

OVERVIEW

Florida Lemark Corporation completed the construction of a new, unique, energy-efficient middle school building at Herbert A. Ammons Middle School. Built in 2003, the existing school previously comprised 16 temporary portables. Upon completion, the new facility achieved a permanent capacity of 1,337 student stations.

The project scope included the demolition of existing temporary structures and underground utilities, along with site restoration, and the construction of a new 59,225-square-foot, three-story facility featuring general-purpose, science, and ESE classrooms. The school also included an art classroom and music/performance platform, a media center (with a director’s office, reading room, media resource area, audiovisual storage, and closed-circuit television), a dining/multipurpose room, and a full-production kitchen with serving areas.
